I don't care if you're gay or not, just as long as you act like a regular guy. I get fucking pissed whenever I see flaming gay guys. If they wanna be a girl so much, then they should get a damn sex change.

300 years of slavery and discrimination, nor were they ever denied the right to vote or segregated. completely different arguments. homosexuality is a lifestyle, not embedded in your genes. I take it you're aware that whether you're homosexual or not isn't a choice? Blacks can't change the way they look, and gay people can't change the way they feel. So drop the bullshit. And regardless of all the blatant discrimination of Black people, it doesn't make the discrimination against homosexuals any more understandable or insignificant. Nowadays, in a world where people try to be fair and unprejudiced, homophobia is almost ignored, especially in comparison to racism etc. For example, there would be an uproar in a school if someone was to do something blatantly racist, whereas the fact of the matter is that a large number of the same people who claim to be disgusted at the racists will be regularly insulting gays and being blatantly homophobic. It's just the sad truth. Of course, I presume that homophobia will be looked at in a similar way to racism in the future.

Yet with all this talk about homosexuality being the new racism, I've never heard of Homosexuals being forced to do any of the following in this country: - ride in the back of public transportation
- limit their options on education, or be segregated from the majority student body
- Go to separate bathrooms/designated areas in store, restraunts, etc.
- Denied the right to serve in our armed forces (don't ask don't tell FTW)
the Homosexual movement hasn't even scraped the surface of what blacks and other minorities had to put up with in the past century in particular. Are the core issues the same? sure, but when it all adds up, race and sexuality are two completely different topics. I'm not saying that Homosexuals haven't been discriminated against (that would be plain ignorant) or wronged in the past, but they sure as hell haven't endured anything harsh enough to be grouped with those who were persecuted for the color of their skin, and that's a fucking insult to compare the gay movement to that of minorities.

Please, stop trying to twist my points to suit your own arguments. Of course gays haven't been put through all that stuff, but it doesn't change the fact that in modern times, homophobia is incredibly overlooked by society. People bleet on about the evils of racism, sectarianism etc, but when it comes to homophobia, they just look past it and ignore it. A huge percentage of society still looks at homosexuals as filthy and vile (perhaps because there has been no obvious discrimination against them by the actual government), despite the fact that, like you said, the core issues are the same as those of racism.

It's not that people are overlooking Homosexuality, it's that people don't give a fuck about it. Half our country frowns upon it, the other half glorifies it, or at least lets it be to some extent. I'm in the half that thinks it wrong and disgusting. And for the record, I do not believe Homosexuality is what you are. I'm going to pull up part of an article up that explains my point.

Well, you're wrong, sadly. I mean, I'm gay, so I know first hand that it's the way I'm made, rather than personal choice. Anyone who believes that it's the latter is either deluded or just really, really stupid. I mean honestly, surely if that was the case, the majority of gays wouldn't be gay in the first place, due to the outlook of society in general when it comes to homosexuality? I can say first hand that I'd much rather be straight (I've been trying to convince myself that I am for years actually), but I have to accept that I can't be, simply due to the fact that it is in my nature. Now please, stop being so ignorant. I probably can't change your opinion, but try to understand that certain people may get a tiny bit upset at you calling homosexuality disgusting. Just a words of advice. Oh, and in regards to you and other finding it disgusting...well, as someone said, that's basically full-blown prejudice with the backing of the Bible, and in the future, people will be looking at back on that attitude in the way that people look back on American racists.

How is it prejudice? Have you ever heard the saying, 'hate the sin, love the sinner?' I see it as a sin, that's how I was brought up, and that's what I believe. I don't HATE people who are gay, if that's what kind of impression I'm making on you. Look, You're not going to change my opinion, and I sure as hell ain't going to change yours. I've stated my opinion, and there's barely anything else I have to say If I upset you in any way over calling your beliefs disgusting, I'm sorry, but that's honestly my personal opinion. Can I look past it? of course, my uncle is a homosexual and I still care for him. I didn't mean to get off on the wrong foot with anyone here by arguing over this issue, but that's the way I am.

That's what this thread, and indeed, this section is for. No right or wrong, just your personal opinions and beliefs.

Well, if someone goes ahead and states that homosexuality is a choice rather than who you are, then that's just plain wrong. In no way is it opinion.

I feel if two love each other enough to get married, than by all means. Male and male, female and female, male and female, no one should stop you.
Two gays getting married has NO effect on my life. If they were to get married or not get married, my life would still be the same. so why would I care?
People may hate the gays that are femine, but that still doesn't bother me. They live how they want to live. I don't hear anyone complaining about tom boys, or girls that are extremely well at sports...unless these girls are dykes.
I shouldn't tell someone how to live their life as long as it doesn't affect mine.

Let the gays get married, it'd be a musical.
Seriously, like I said before, long as they don't do it near me, I see let them be happy.

Just when I thought gays were more accepted these days, I realized I was wrong. At school the other day during lunch, a gay guy walked past and then someone called him a faggot. Then he wanted someone to throw something at him just because he was gay. Fucked up that someone can't be themselves without people judging them.

Never judge a book by it's cover. I almost did that with Fight Club, and shit was I wrong, greatest book ever. Wait... almost, Hamlet is fairly badass.
