Start of the American craze, season 1 of the T.V. show and most of Season 2 (so the full R/B/Y era of Gen 1) was amazing. Even the battles to see the Elite Four (which should be added to the game!).
Everything after for Gen 2 and on show wise sucked. The games are where it's at now! =D

I watched the series up to the Orange Isle's part, and actually quite enjoyed. I didn't like it after that, plus I was getting too old.
I will still play the games though.

Shit, I just got finished playing Pokemon Gold. I have all 246 out of 251 of those little faggots. I don't understand why they want you to catch em' all when there's OVER NINE THOUSANDDDDDD of them. Yeah, I overexagerated, but there's a good 450-500.  |

I bought the first episode of pokemon on vhs when I was a little kid. I watched it the other day. I've never been this nostalgic. Those were the days.

Ok. I'm slightly ashamed of this, but me, my brother and my sister forced my Dad to take us to the cinema to see the first movie, and I was given a free Pikachu promo card, my brother got Mew, I forget what my sister got... bad times. I also forced my dad to buy the movie (copy) as soon as we left the cinema off of this lady we knew. Worse times. I'll just back out of this thread and find my dignity...  |

I went to the cinema to watch the first movie, my sister and my cousin came too. We all got Mewtwo cards.
Oh and Matt, you think you've lost your dignity. I watched the movie about 6 months ago. I cried. Don't you think that's just a little worse.

Oh, and I had over 700 cards. After I my holographic Moltres card was destroyed by my niece, I hate to say, I locked myself in the bathroom and cried like a bitch and from that night on, I gave up on collecting the cards.
I think I was 11. LOL

I was a Batman fan growing up, I got in just a bit before the Pokemon phase.
But loving Batman growing up is the best childhood obsession out there, think about it, compare Pokemon and Batman today.
Pokemon: A parody of itself, a laughingstock, completely unpopular and out of the public eye
Batman: Subject of a recently released blockbuster that is the 2nd highest grossing film ever.

Don't worry man, I took my mom to the first movie, and I remember looking around seeing just as many adults as kids, thinking "wow, adults love Pokemon two!" Little did I know... I actually own the movie on VHS, as the Digimon Movie as well, both are pretty good, but Pokemon only had one good sequal, the other NINE THOUSAND suck. |
